Short Beach Breaks & Weekends Away...

Short beach break

Two weeks too much? Running low on annual leave? We’ve all been there. That week off in Feb to paint the living room seemed like a good idea until now, didn’t it? But that’s where short beach breaks come in. They’re less pre-holiday prep, more ‘let’s get away for a few days.’ Less shopping for a fortnight’s worth of clothes, more throwing a few swimsuits into a bag and calling it a day. Sometimes all you need is that little taste of sun. Just enough to tide you over until your next getaway. A few days of lazing on the beach - work emails muted. Plus, how cool would it be to answer ‘going to Greece’ when Carol from the office asks what you’re up to this weekend?

Our Top Tip!

Make sure to check your flight times when booking your holiday. If you're only away for a few days, you really want to make the most of it! Look for an early morning departure leaving the UK and a late evening flight coming home. You'll add almost two full days on to your trip!

Short beach breaks for couples

Get away with your favourite person and soak up the sun together on a short but sweet couples holiday. Escape day-to-day life and dip your toes in the sea, unwind with cocktails at the poolside and enjoy romantic meals for two. Whether you’re a couple who love exploring charming towns in the Algarve, want to experience the famous buzz of Benidorm beaches or are a ‘rave together, stay together’ pair looking for a non-stop party in Ibiza – we offer short beach breaks for every type of couple.

Short beach breaks for groups

There’s nothing like a mates’ escape, is there? From the first idea of “let’s go on holiday”, to the moment you take off – there’s no excitement like it…and that’s before you’ve even arrived! We all know that a week with the whole group can be a bit much though, which is why we’re a big fan of short group holidays. You can perfectly plan those five days in Spain, go for a relaxing All Inclusive long weekend in Portugal, or head for the Balearics where you can chill out, catch some rays and club the night away with your best mates.

Where can I fly to with the shortest flight time?

For a super-short flight time, gorgeous sandy beaches and plenty of towns to explore, head to the beautiful Balearic Islands. Full of sunshine and tapas, these sun-soaked Spanish island’s are perfect for a long weekend away. For something a little further, check out Portugal, Mainland Spain or Greece!

Can I find somewhere that has both a beach and a city?

In a word, yes! There are a number of great city break destinations that come served with a side of beach. Try Barcelona for gorgeous Gothic architecture, the famous Park Guell and the buzzing Barceloneta Beach or head to Lisbon for pretty coastlines and perfect pastel de natas.

What board basis is best for a short break?

It’s best to have a think of what kind of break you’re booking. If you want a flop-and-drop few days away full of poolside drinks and lazy beach days, then an All Inclusive could be great for you. With many hotels offering all the meals, drinks and post-swim ice creams you can consume, you’ll definitely get more bang for your buck here. If you’re heading somewhere to explore the destination then opt for either a Room Only or a Self Catering option. This means you can spend less on a hotel and more discovering where you are.
