Food & Drink

With hints of Turkish and Greek influences, Cypriot cuisine is typically made up of mezes, halloumi, stuffed vine leaves and souvlakia (grilled pork or chicken inside a pitta bread with salad). One of the heartier traditional Cypriot meals is Kleftiko, a lamb dish cooked slowly for no less than 24 hours with lemon and cinnamon and served with potatoes. For those with a sweet tooth, make sure to try loukoumades - fried dough balls in syrup.

Culture

Don’t be fooled by Ayia Napa’s reputation as a popular clubbing destination, the area in itself is an old town with beautiful historic sites and architecture to be admired. The Ayia Napa Monastery is a piece of interesting ancient structure, dating back to 1500 AD, making for a peaceful day out. If you’re interested in local art, the Ayia Napa Sculpture Park is filled with impressive art pieces that are refreshingly unusual.

Nightlife

As one of Europe’s favourite party destinations, Ayia Napa is the place to go for a fun-filled week of letting your hair down. Holding a fabulous selection of clubs playing the freshest beats, it really is the hottest place for dancing ‘til the early hours. If you’re looking for the centre of the party, the strip is for you, however along Nissi Avenue and near the harbour holds bars and pubs perfect for those who want a fun evening out without the wild side.
